Lohas rims and fitting them
Lohas rims and fitting them
Hi, has anyone ever fitted Lohas dazzle rims to their rc10, and how? These rims were advertised to use with rc10. I can't even get my 12mm rear wheel adaptors to fit over the axle and pin. When I purchased them I was told I would only need the hex adaptors and all will fit. If anyone has put these on there rc10 and how I would be so grateful if you could share it with me, thanks

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Is your rc10 1/4" (old) or 3/16" (newer)? That will make a difference. Sounds like your 1/4" if the adapter won't slip over the axle. I have no experience with these exact wheels but I have lots of experience in rc10 dimensions

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Hi Gomachv, and thanks for the quick reply mate. I must have the older version as the hex adaptor won't go over the axel. Also how are people fitting the front rim, these are dazzle rims and the front rims also need hex adaptors. Are the dazzle rims made for another rc and not the rc10, I just can't find a solution. If anyone has fitted dazzle rims to ther rc10 please let me know., thanks

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
They should fit no problem - all you would need is the right adaptor and you might need a bushing on the nut side.
I would suggest contacting him as he's a good guy.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I just spoke with Emerson by email and the dazzle rims are for a 4wd. Has anyone adapted these to fit rc10. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy some nice aluminum rims specifically for a rc10. The dazzle rims I have, seems a lot of work to make them work and fit rc10, thanks for any suggestions

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Dang, I was afraid of that when you said the front had hexes
It can be done. I want to say traxxas carriers and blocks in the front? In the rear go to 3/16 axles and hpi or ?? adapters to hex.... It's probably cheaper than repurchasing wheels and you probably like the looks of them?
I'm sure others will chime in with the recipe to convert

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Thanks Gomachv, you are correct mate, hex on front rims as well. Not only that, I paid $100US for them so I would like to try and use them. I may be better off selling them and trying to find the correct ones, or if anyone has an idea on fitting these. Thanks for helping Gomachv and answering my questions. Has anyone out there fitted dazzles or made adaptors to fit these on rc10, I am so confused, thanks

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
finding the others is gonna be harder than fitting adaptors to the ones you have at this point in time. Can't be too hard to fit a hex to these. Haven't done it yet but rc10johnny has been doing that to his DS builds. They won't be 'stock' anymore but lohas dazzle rims aren't either

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
I really appreciate all the advice fellas, Can someone give me a list of parts I actually need in order to use the dazzle rims. This is my first rc car, I have plenty of helis and rc bikes but know nothing about the rc10. Thanks

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
I'm gonna let the guys that have done it take a chop first, rc10johnny for example. If nobody chimes in I can tell you how I would do it, but I don't want to waste your money on my ideas if others already have the plans laid

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Here's one for the rear wheels. Fronts should be easy - grab any plastic one you can find for 1/4" axles (which should be any off the shelf ones I would think) and get these for the rears:

I would think even the rears should be available readily at your local hobby store though.

Re: Lohas rims and fitting them
Yeah the rears shouldn't be too hard, we used hpi superstar adapters a lot back in the day. There is one for the 1/4" and also the 3/16 in this kit

The front conversion is the one where widths will be a bit more work.
It MAY be as easy as just using b4.1 parts like these:
