After reading through the truck forum I decided that I just had to have one. So after a few months of watching the bay I ended up with this baby for $75.00 bucks. The owner said it was still running when he put it away twenty years ago. When the mail man dropped it on my door step I grabbed an old 3000 nimh pack I had laying around and popped it in. It came to life right away and ran smooth as silk! The only thing I had to do was put a new piece of servo tape under the S148. I took it to work with me and showed it to one of the guys that runs nitro trucks. He was impressed with the speed and how smooth she was. Despite all the fun we were having we decided to keep it down to about ten laps a piece. I'm sure the stealth needs cleaning and new lube after sitting all those years and I didn't want to tear anyhting up in there. This truck will receive a complete restore and will see limited running afterward. I don't plan on replacing anything and will keep it just the way it is. The body isn't bad but it's not exactly a masterpiece either so I'll probably get another truck body and probably a baja bug body too for running. The tires don't look like they're even broken in so I'll prbably save those for display. I won't start on this just yet as I need to finish my RC12E Clone Runner Project first but thought I would get a thread started anyway. This should be a fun build!


















It came with lots of goodies too.


Never seen this speed control before.


Came with a spare 6 gear trans and another motor too.


There's a complete set of 3 bolt buggy wheels and tires in this lot that look unused with Hot Lap tires on them.


In addition to the truck manual it also came with a CE manual. I think I finally scored a decent deal this time around!

Be sure to not use those rare front tires, especially those big knob fronts. Only seen those from the original ad back in the day.

Very nice score! Nice to see you getting into off road as well, love your builds! The 10T is the best truck ever! Seems like the guy had a RC10CE as well, and you ended up with the trans, papers and wheels! Get in touch with him and see if he has what's left of the CE!

Those are Pro45's by Proline, they were shown in the 7001 manual and box but never verified as kit parts
This truck is a 7001, but the second version with arm webbing, molded (not drilled) trans brace and the 2nd version non offset chassis.

Thanks man! I most definitely won't be using any of the original tires for running. I'm going to restore her just the way she is all stock for sure. I'll probably have the tub powder coated semi-gloss black though. I might start on this sooner than planned since it really doesn't need much work. We shall see.

Thanks Rod! I came to the same conclusion on the CE. I'll message him and se what he comes back with. He said he found the truck in his garage while cleaning it out so just maybe that CE is in there somewhere.

I actually have another RC10 on the list to be built. This ones going to cost me so probably won't start on it until summer arrives. Offroad is really the way to go for me since I can run them just about anywhere. The same can't be said about my carpet cars.

Nice score on the truck. I watched that auction but did not bid. Man, you got a truckload of extras! Glad to see someone on the board got it.

I kept wondering if I was bidding against another member from here. I was really surprised that I ended up winning. I've decided to start on this truck despite all of my other projects so updates will be comming soon.
