"A" Stamp Nose piece

Hello All,
So a few weeks ago I was going through some stuff at my folks house and came upon a NIP Nose and tubes which now I can't find....I know I put them somewhere safe and it is driving me nuts that I cannot lay a hand on them....but anyhow. I am pushing to get the car ready for Christmas and have ordered everything to put together, what I think will be, a good running car, this was not a terribly cheap project all said and done mostly because I found NIP parts from many different sources and the shipping really adds up when you have stuff coming from 10 different sources. With all that said I am looking forward to getting the car to the point of being more functional then when I first bought it with the exception of the fairly tweaked nose plate. My question is can I only use the one from a "A" stamp chassis? The truck one looks like it would work with a bit of cutting and drilling two more holes for the inboard suspension mount screws. Any other ideas? Or any word on getting a decent one without breaking the bank? I also wonder how successful I could be trying to straighten it....I am guessing it could be made close to straight but it will never be perfect.

Cheers,
Jim

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to bolt any gold pan (pre-B2) nose plate onto the car. I'm a bit limited with variations, but the DS nose, and the HotTrick (aftermarket) nose are direct fits.

The buggy nose is wider than the truck and DS nose kickups and the screw holes for the arm mounts don't match up.

If you're using buggy arms and mounts you need to use a buggy kickup to keep the front the right width. You can use any buggy nose from any stamp chassis prior to the B2.

I stand corrected...I was referring to swapping the entire front end. I didn't think about the suspension mounts.

Got lucky, found a decent looking one on Fleabay last night and got my hands on it for $4 including shipping. other then having a couple random holes drilled into it it looks to be in much better shape then the one I have...and more importantly not bent.

I believe I am done with the parts collecting, not I just have to wait for everything to arrive and reassemble her.

Cheers,
Jim
