A.R.T. Agitator XII Wheel Options

Post by FasterLouder »

So,I have this really cool old Bolink/A.R.T. Agitator XII,complete with the original body,in really good condition for it's age.
Apart from the rear wheels and tires.
I threw some 12L4 rims and tires on the front, but I can't find anything to bolt onto the 2 bolt rear hubs.

Would these fit http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Set-Of-1-12-Scale-Rear-Foam-Wheels-Tires-Original-RC12L-AE-Pan-Car-/251188314043?pt=US_Character_Radio_Control_Toys&hash=item3a7bfd7fbb ?

Can anyone suggest a fix?
Thanks! :D

Those AE are what came on my Agi XII so they will fit. You could also consider converting to a modern rear axle and hubs.

You do not have to buy new wheels. You can re mount those wheels with new tires. All you have to do is soak them in lacquer thinner. The glue will melt and the tires will swell up and come off like butter. To remount the tires all you need is some contact cement and lacquer thinner. Apply the contact thinner to inside of the new donut and the outside of the wheel. let dry for about half an hour. Dip in lacquer thinner, press together and let dry over night. True and you are back in business. You can use pre trued or rough cut donuts. Any brand of tire that you would like they all mount the same. If you are going to do this please remember to do it in a well ventilated place as contact cement and lacquer thinner have a rather strong smell.
Giving old thing a new life!
