Team Car vs Worlds Car (black pan)

Post by jkelm24 »

Does anyone know when AE replaced the black 'B' tub Team Car with the black 'C' tub Worlds Car?

However, the C stamp non milled tub was still included in the late 6035 team cars

Allright, that begs the question, what was the difference between B & C stamp chassis?
I always thought the C stamp chassis was a milled B stamp.

Late 10T's used the unmilled C stamp as well. I've got a couple of them.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

The C stamp chassis was, as mentioned above, available milled or plain. The milled version was a different grade alloy and was hard anodized. These are frequently purple by now. For the rest of my rambling here I will only be referring to the plain C not the milled. The early B and the late B had more of a difference than a late B to a plain C stamp. The early B had an offset battery holder carried over from the original A where the late B was centered. The C stamp chassis most commonly have the 6 gear holes not countersunk. There are some that are but the vast majority are not. If you held a late B and a plain C side by side you would be hard pressed to see any difference besides the countersinking.

Thanks for the information. Do all original C stamps lack the counter sinking on the 6 gear holes?
By a different alloy does that mean the A&B were 6061 and the C milled were 7075.
Were the nose plates also made differently?
That combination would lead to a extremely durable tub. That would have been even more expensive to produce than a regular tub.
Do you know if the Re-re chassis were also a different alloy and hard anodized?

No, as I said most lack it but not all.

A, B, and plain C were 6061. Worlds milled C stamp were 2024.

Were the nose plates also made differently?
The cut was different (lightened) however they did not advertise a different alloy.
Do you know if the Re-re chassis were also a different alloy and hard anodized?
I am not sure the alloy but the quality of the rere chassis was terrible. They bend much easier.
