i installed the rpm trans case in my graphite rc10 project and i know the ratio is different but forgot the ratio was. im currently running a 17.5 in it and its dog slow with an 81 spur and a 26 pinion. just wanted to know a good baseline so i dont cook anything.

Is it the 2.65 white 10T case or the 1.96 gray case, which was more designed for on-road and oval?

I ran a 2.65 with an 18T BL, 81T or 78T spur (can't remember) and 25T pinion in my RC10 and it was stupid fast with a 2S LiPo. It soon exploded, but that's not the point.

According to people here, the natural-colored idler gears are stronger than the black ones. So get one of those if you haven't already.

Count the teeth on the top shaft. 17t = 2.65; 23t = 1.96.

thanks for all the advice guys...it was a big help to figure out the ratio,i did open up the trans for piece of mind and it is a 17t top shaft so its gonna be the 2.65 ratio...im gonna play around with gearing and see if i can get some more top end out of it...its got plenty of torque to get out of corners i just need more speed...this thing couldnt get out of its own way if it tried with the current gearing. im using a novak havoc pro sc esc(at the moment) and a tekin 17.5 motor and a 5000mah 2s lipo so it has plenty of power. anyone have the part number for the natural colored idlers or have some to spare?

Rush, gear it like a B4 (2.60 tranny). So probably around 33/75 (according to the current B4.1 manual). Sounds about right, at HRH I ran 30/75 in my OG stealth gold pan (2.25), 33/76 in my TLR22 (2.42 I think).

unfourtunatly this rig still has a stock rc10 topshaft so i cant go lower than the 81 i have because i dont have anything smaller until i swap to the b4 topshaft or get smaller og style spur gears. i am geared 81/34 at the moment but i have yet to hit the track and its got just enough room to adjust the mesh but rubs the cover

I have a kimbrough 69 somewhere on my workbench, if you were closer.... :)

I wont be at any local tracks until after Thanksgiving, too much @ work right now.

Raced mine with 31/75 but was lacking a little top end speed. Put 33/75 last night. Might be back at the trak in a couple weeks to test.

Looks like the TC5 uses the same spur.

Link to a 75T on tower.

Raced 36/75 tonight with the ballistic timing at 40 degrees. About 100f after an 8 minute main. Going to change the spur to a 69 tooth next.
