New guy checking in!

Don't worry, I'm not one of those guys trying to figure out how much to sell something for on Fleabay, or some guy turning something into a chop shop special..

just a RC hobbiest, from a hobbiest family, who is in the midsts of taking his old, childhood RC10 championship edition out of retirement for simple fun and pleasure... though, I'm not opposed to some vintage collecting or hopping up what I have.

I mostly work in RC boats and compete in the RG65 sailing class of RC sailboats.

I'm a brewer by trade, and there is a giant concrete slab behind the work place that I've been playing on.

the road right behind the brewery seems Ideal for 1:10 drag racing, so if any of y'all are hanging out in the midatlantic, hit me up ;)

I got the old girl running again.. using a tazer esc. new rims and tires. a brand new viper shell painted in the breweries colors. with some tap handle, and bumper sticker stuff for graphics. A 3000 Mah Nimah battery pack. and a mystery motor, that I belive is 15 turns. it was salvaged from a never completed electric glider years ago went I wore out the brushes on the factory motor. And of course, a modern 2.4 radio set, the cheap trigger from Hobby King. back in the day it was the cheap futaba AM trigger from Tower. and a brand new sub $15 steering servo. I burnt out the resistor ESC years ago, and for a while as a kid, my ESC was a servo triggering a momentary read switch to turn the motor ON and OFF

I, of course have managed to break something, and replacement parts are on the way. a steering nuckle.. I found some parts on the fleabay for the operation. of course, after that, reading through the forums, looks like Tower still carries an acceptable replacement part. (confirm? deny?) I also need a new front shock tower because the one on there is the fetted remains of two other, non matching shock towers held together on top via a piece of aluminum. a hold over from youthful exuberance of beating the hell out of the car and the car centric LHS going out of buisness.

back in the teenage days the car saw many a road type of body. the chassis provided the bases of playing "dress up" for the many cars I coveted. she had a shelby AC cobra body on her at one point, and ZZtop's Cadzilla on it, and it appears Cadzilla i still available from I think Hosi, under a new name. gangster something or 'nother.. just to name a few.

that's my story so far folks, and I hope to be a welcome member of the community, I'll post some pics of the wee little beastie soon.
