I came acrossed 2 of these local and just had to have them. Lunchbox based chassis with a special edition Parma Snap On body. Started to clean them up as they had been sitting in a basment for many years. Only thing i had to swap in to get them going was the recievers and now run great. My plan is to tear them down and clean them to like new and park them on a shelf. I am starting to take interest in restoring vintage Tamiya's while the short course racing is on hold for winter. Post pics or anymore info you may have about these trucks.

Those were a promotional item from Snap-on tools. They were sold off the back of the tool trucks and you might have been able to send away for them as well but I can't remember the specifics. I'm pretty sure they also came with white wheels as well opposed to the regular yellow.

I feel like I've got an old RCCA with one of those in the readers' rides section.

The guy who owns the truck in the link you provided is no other than shodog who is a moddie right here. He probably hasn't been on yet to see this post or he would have commented. He's got a set of Tecnacraft wheels on his Snap-on truck he shows on that 4 x 4 RC site.

It looks like I was right... Also, the good news is you can now get the white wheels as Tamiya recently started producing them for the Mitsubishi Montero.

That body is great, you need to get white wheels to go with it. Wasn't there a Snap-On Fox also?

Found it:

There was also a snap-on t-maxx, and I think another one at one point, but I'm drawing a blank on what it was.

That is a cool body. 8)
