Recently acquired old motors and ESCs

Post by markbt73 »

In the course of some recent dealings, I've come across some old motors and ESCs that I thoguht I'd share. I haven't tested any of this stuff yet, but if it works, I'll probably make them earn their keep.

Nothing too exotic, but I personally have never seen that Altech ESC (far right) before. It has reverse, and servo-style mounting tabs. I'll have to look up the specs. The blue one is a Dutatrax DTX-4, which I'm guessing is similar in specs to the Novak 4, a forward-only ESC for stock racing. In the middle is a Hitec, with reverse. Looks like the sort that would have come bundled with a radio back in the day. I also have a Futaba MC210CB somewhere.

The Kyosho Mega motors are a 22x1 and a 18x2. The one on the far left is a mystery; the label says "Diamond Electric Power" and it has a litle sticker with the number 901. Can is stamped Trinity. Some boutique modified, I guess. I also have a Trinity Onyx and a Reedy Mr. N that are in use.

Anyway, just some interesting old stuff. I plan to test it all out eventually.

I think dymond was distributed by UMP, same people that brought the SG Coyote to the USA. I think I may have a sheet that will decode that "901" but I'll have to take a look

Thanks! If you have any info on it, let me know. I googled it but came up empty-handed.

Thanks for posting that! Unfortunately, this one has a gold label, which is not listed on there... I can see it has ball bearings. If I get bored someday, I'll try popping the endbell off and counting the winds. Not like I'm short of other motors to try out first, though.

Another little tidbit I just discovered... one of the Associated stock motors has a label with the Edinger address on it.

The ESC on the far right looks like a re badged JR esc.

It fits in where the servo goes for the MSC.

They had a heat sink on the side too. Was not a bad esc but very expensive in it's day. Well here in Australia anyway.

Some nice motors there too!!!!
