Very cool car. I just restored one of these for my neighbor about a year ago. driveshafts popped out about every 5 feet but other than that great fun.

It was vintage kit very rare

I know there are delays and backorders on pretty much everything these days but wondering if there is any news on something upcoming as far as Tamiya 80s reissues? Kinda bummed I missed the black Beetle reissue but Im not paying $500 for one either....

At first I thought you were wondering if there was anything out there like an 80's Horizon. I couldn't grasp why anyone would want an RC Plymouth Horizon!?!? :mrgreen:

I have collected a number of older motors from deals. Mostly Tamiyas, and a few Kyoshos. They really make fantastic shelf pieces! :lol:

I only started this hobby a few years ago and I'm curious to know what were the motors of choice in the 1980s...

Hey guys,

I used to race as a teenager back in the day in El Paso, Texas. My first car was a Tamiya Superchamp, then I got an RC10 right when it came out. My dad lived in SoCal in the 80s, so when I would visit he would take me to all the OG tracks...

These are scans from my old Pro-Line catalog from around '86 or '87. These are reduced resolution images along with all the stains and markings. I think the red marks were something I bought or wanted to buy back in my Grasshopper days. :)

I dont advise using zx6 arms straight out because of the material holding the hingepins is capturing only a small area..compared to the zx or optima mid arms. This will bend your hingepins then break the zx6 arm.

So they still haven't fixed that...
