I just bought a Tamiya Rising fighter, so far I am happy with it (got it for $55 can't really go wrong there). My question is what kind of upgrades can be done to this car?

Is there anything I can do to reduce how bouncy it is?

I have a dynamite 6cell 7.2 3300mah nihm battery what is a good charger for it?

I'm not familiar with that car so I checked it out...it's basically a hybrid of a Frog & Hornet, Frognet?

If I'm not mistaken, the shocks are just friction dampers...I think an upgrade to some decent oil-filled shocks would make the biggest difference in suspension & handling. I couldn't recommend what to replace them with unless I knew how long the existing shocks were.

I'm sure some Tamiya experts here will have a lot better info.

not even, it's pretty much a modern refresh of the grasshopper/hornet, so any of the hop ups for those will apply.

it's got a better battery hatch, and it looks like they centered the motor better in the swing axle.

the only real upgrades would be to ball bearings(if it doesn't have them) and oil filled shocks, as shown in the 'upgrade' page of the manual.

otherwise, if you wanted to do some hacking, you might be able to run the CRP fx10 style front suspension, which will improve your handling somewhat:

also there is a 'third' shock mod, but not sure if it would work with the newer centered motor.

look for lunchbox threads here on the forum, many of those modifications will apply

id do just bearings.. if you want to spend more $$ on this car do oil shocks,racing stock motor or 20 turn mod motor and new tires thats it.. id use it stock with ball bearings and save some cash and get a rc complete(buy used if you want cheap).. the chassis setup will never perform well, its just made for fun .. as for charger any cheap nimh charger will work.
