Kyosho RB6

Post by Momo5 »

Not vintage I know, but still deserves a mention. Ugly body! But it looks like a nice buggy...

If you stare at it long enough, the body starts to look cool ;-). It does look like a high quality buggy.

That's a Proline bulldog body. Won the last IFMAR worlds (of course on an associated;)

Hopefully the rb6 will be more durable than previous offerings. I know a few guys with them and they seem to break weird/random parts like front axles.

Interesting how after going to composites for 20 years the trend is returning to aluminum chassis

You guys must have missed the vega body for their RB5 mid conversion.

Seriously. I was talking to people at work about this and they argued it's a result of low weight LiPo batteries. It kind of seems like its a just a marketing cycle coming full circle... Similar to those JConcepts wheels that just came out being multi-piece.

The one thing that seems sweet on the RB6 is the ability to use any batter configuration - stick, saddle or shortie - with either motor configuration. I like that! But, anyone seen the price of this buggy?

Maybe an RB6 with optional cage body or a race version of Ultima DB?
Cheers

This makes me wonder if car chassis designs have become so lightweight that airflow downforce isn't sufficient to keep them planted. There *is* such a thing as too light. I envision things as a balance with physics; with very lightweight on-road cars, it's possible to make a body that's basically one big downforce wing, and that will keep the car planted...but with an offroad buggy that's bouncing and jumping and jostling all over the place, too light could be problematic.

Yeah, I'm thinking RB6 with a cage too.
