Sway bars or not?

A few years back I bought an A stamp Gold Pan on Ebay that was SUPER clean, mainly because it has the original front AND rear sway bars installed.

I've never driven one with sway bars on it and I'd like some input. I'm putting her into service as a street rod with the body below.

She'll be Tekin Brushless 10.5 with rubber tires.
I guess what I'm asking, what handling characteristics are different WITH sway bars versus without? Just front? Just rear?

I'd appreciate any input/thoughts/questions/comments/concerns/quips/cutdowns...

First off, COOL car shell! Second, I've run mine without the rear sway and found that it tends to roll (literally) over easier without the rear sway bar. Once I installed the rear bar the cornering / turning was crisper and more controlled. Now, I'm running on pavement mostly so no idea on dirt or tracks how it would be.

SWAY-BARS

it all depends what you are wanting to do and what type of track you are running them on
i have ran them on my ol xx4 on really really smooth high bite tracks
basicly what a sway bar does as force is being applied to the out side tire/a-arm due to chassis roll and innertia
as the wire(sway-bar) on the out side is forced up due to compression it transfers the energy, to force the inside tire/a-arm to compress which results in the end( be it front or rear depending on application)to force a lower cg point
which results in a less chassis roll feel do to the inside tire/a-arm not being allowed extend do to natural tendency for the chassis to fallow the the innertia of the force of the turn
than it will also change in drastic measures depending on what size wire thickness you use and length
also take into consideration that if your having trouble with the front traction put the sway on the rear
vice versa rear traction probs put it on the front
it all has to do with weight transfer and where u want it

Very well put Farmer.

To keep it simple in genral.....

Front Bar will take steering away ( understeer)

Rear Bar will give more steering overall & on power ( High speed corners)

Thanks a lot for the input! I thought that was how they worked but wasn't 100% sure.

I may need to remove them since I'll be running on pavement and use them for tuning my dirt oval racer.
