I am debating on picking up one of these RTR from TowerHobbies for $315. Its the 4wd model, 2.4ghz and brushless.
Does anyone have any experience with this model?

Not such a great truck. Parts at times can be hard to find and has no race background. You're much better off with the BX buggy!

What about the Thunder Tiger Phoenix XT? Isn't it the same truck as the Associated RC10T? I should be able to sub Thunder parts with Associated if need be. I can get the 2wd 2.4ghz brushless for $239.
