Anyone cutting reproduction chassis for 12i or 12e? I know reign is doing bumpers and shaker plates...I think we need someone to cut some woin chassis plates, possibly even undrilled for updating to newer and easier to source rear bulkheads.

???

To ensure I see where you are going with this, you want to modernize a 12e or 12i?

I think your best bet is to source some G-10 and use a scroll saw, as you want to run newer style Pod Bulkheads, you will need a new upper pod plate to be able to correctly setup the rear end etc. Unless you have a "CAD" program or the like to provide the members on here a file, so that they can perform the work for you perhaps.

Just wasn't sure if someone was already cutting chassis or not. If someone was, I would like to source an undrilled chassis for a project. I already have the g10 coming but its never going to look as good as a professionally cut unit if I do it with a saw and dremel. I see a member is cutting shock towers... was hoping someone was on the same page as I and maybe already has a cad file. I have worked in Google sketchup but never an actual cad program.

This chassis was cut with hacksaw, drill and finished with belt sander and files.

if someone on the site was willing to draw one up i could machine them. I made this one a few weeks ago for a 10L project

I like the scroll saw idea though. that would work really well actually.

I have seen that, in fact I totally spaced contacting you first. Awesome work! I ordered some g10 from mcmaster, where did you source yours?

When I cough really hard I can still smell the fiberglass from when I was a kid cutting g10 in the back yard with a jigsaw LOL

Do you have a way to translate from a google sketchup file to a cad program? I am good with sketchup but never even been able to draw a line in autocad LMAO!

do you remember which version you bought? there is a Flame Retardant version and a general purpose- I was hoping to avoid the bolink green colored stuff, i like the "normal" stuff like you got. I got some of both coming- should have asked first LOL!

i believe it was the general stuff. If you look in the specs it will tell you what color it is. I am going to order some blue here shortly. I want to make the skull chassis in blue

I saw the blue and order a small sheet of 1/16, but i didnt see a 3/32 sheet- it went right to 1/8 which i thought was a bit too thick. I ended up with a couple sheets of 1/16 and 3/32
