Would the radioshack xmods count as a hobby quality rc? I figure they could sorta fit in with the mini-z's and such.

I don't really think they are. Yes they're modifiable and all but I wouldn't even consider Mini-Z's hobby grade. Not to detract from Kyosho, I think Mini-Z's are a lot of fun but I wouldn't consider them something "hobby grade" (or Xmods either) based on the fact that you can't necessarily take them apart, swap out radio gear, etc. I think they're on the fringe of hobby grade but more toward "really awesome toy" grade.

Yeah I think you would be right about them being on the verge. They are awesome toys though I have 6 of them myself. Too bad radioshack quit selling them.

Ya I had a few as well. When I worked at RC Driver we used to race them in an empty off ice after work. I think I had about 300 into my Xmod by the time I was done lol.
