Whitening with Peroxide, what 'container' to use??

Well, I want to make the most of all this sun in the UK at the moment, and have ordered some 3% Hydrogen Peroxide.

What do you guys use to place your plastic bits in and the solution, for maximum sunlight? I've seen jars used, but would that mean you would have mix them around every couple hours??

I'm doing mainly wheels, so some kind of flat shallow container would be best, with a glass lid!!!

Sorry for the dull question guys

Nick

I've used a flat, clear glass corning ware dish with aluminum foil under it to reflect the suns rays to the bottom of the parts or at least I thought it was working when I was outside with my wifes baking dishes soaking model car parts like a crazy scientist  Never used a lid though and would catch interesting insects also along the way

I use a Ball jar. You can get them here in different sizes depending on what parts you have to do. Even with the metal lid, the parts still get plenty of rays to do the job. I usually go out about every 12hrs and shake up the bubbles off the surfaces.

I did this not so long ago and simply used plastic bottles cut down. I was doing truck wheels and I found that a white spirit bottle was just a little bit bigger, and saved me having to buy loads of bottles of the stuff!

+1 on the Glass dish & Foil, although I use a piece of saran wrap stretched on top to maximize exposure , I have to leave the parts on the balcony and as such do not get full sunlight exposure.

I used my wife's stainless steel bowl while she wasn't looking. If you check my posts I think you can see my results in the photos. I used straight 3% HP. About two days....maybe a total of 15 hours in direct sun over that time period.

Thanks for all the replies fellas, much appreciated.

Well, currently experimenting with 2x Optima and 1x Bigwig wheels, 2nd day of exposure

See what you mean about those bubbles though, the wheels keep floating to the top!!

The flies seem to love the peroxide, there's one been lying in it for a day now, motionless, loving it!!
