What shocks are these?

Post by j0pp3 »

Hi!

I am relatively new to the vintage scene. Tried to google them up but failed... The reason I ask in this forum is that the JRX2 shocks looks a bit familiar.

Anyone happen to know something about these shocks?

Yokomo 870c/YZ10 Dogfighter shocks (circa 1987-88).

If they have coils on the inside then they will be early 870c (1987) dampers. If they dont then that should make them YZ10 (1988) better versions.

Nice dampers mate. Definately nice for a shelf car or a prized vintage runner

Thanks a lot for that informative answer :D

They look really special compared to todays modern dampers. I will keep them!

Yeah I always did like the look of these dampers and when built well they actualy worked ok. Some may not agree but for their day they were alot better than some other designs back then.

Still, they certainly look at home on the early Japanese 870c Dog Fighter :D

The thing is... I just have the shocks.

I am more into the Kyosho Optima Mid-series atm and these shocks were put on a Turbo Optima Mid I bought on Ebay. As I am restoring it I have the Yokomo shocks as a bonus. Maybe they will be put on the real deal in the future

Thanks again!
Cheers
