Front Steering, anyone know what this might fit?

Post by cautiousone »

I bought this front steering on eBay, it stated RC10, RC10T, RC10T2 & RC10GT. I thought I was buying a nice ball bearing steering for my team car, but instead I got a part that's to long to fit into my buggy or my 10T. This thing is built like a tank, very heavy duty for sure. does anyone have a clue what I have here? Thanks Damon

So it does fit the 10T huh? Dang, I have a 10T, but not looking to add any parts to it right now, just trying to get my team car running smooth. Looks like I'll have to find someone willing to trade me  Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Damon

Anyone know if these take special bolts to mount these? They don't seem to want to go over the ones already in place. Do you have to thread them on or am I just using the wrong style of bolts?

looks like the hex collars thread down on the 8-32 screws, then the bellcranks, then the nut on top. should be it.

Oh I see, it didn't look like this was all able to come apart, those hex collars are in there pretty tight. But thanks for the help, I got it installed, but now I have another issue. The steering hits that nut and won't let it turn to the right. Is that nut suppose to be there?

as long as the treads aren't stripped out of the noseplate it doesn't need to be there. shorten the screw, too.

if they are stripped, use a small low profile 8-32 nut and cut the screw down to the nut.

Thanks scr8p, I just removed the nut and I'm surprised that the thing wasn't stripped out. Everything else is on this 10T is stripped out, super glued, bailing wire or threaded rods. But hey, it has one nice steering setup on it though
