Indy bodies

Does anyone here have an Indy car body on a 10L or 12L? I remember an old RCCA edition from somewhere around 1990 or so that showed a bunch of pan cars with Indy bodies on them racing on a high banked oval track. I always thought they were kind of neat but I've never seen one outside of that article. Does anyone here have an Indy style pan car?

mcallister racing has IRL bodies, probably for a narrow car though.

I saw that one. It is horribly ugly! While I'd love to find nice looking Indy body, I'm really more interested if anyone here has an Indy car body equipped 10L or 12L from back in the day.

That McAllister body is about what I remember the Indy bodies looking like back then. The front of the chassis is so wide that it's hard to make the narrow nose look right. Kyosho and Tamiya both made some really nice looking Indy cars, based on F1-style pan car chassis, but any bodies made for a 10L (or Invader/Eliminator or similar) are going to look ungainly.

In my head I thought I remember seeing an associated Indy body in one of my brochures. I will confirm tomorrow with a pic if I'm correct.

EDIT:

Here' the picture I was talking about.

i remember watching those insane record runs with the indy car bodies. i always thought that they would do really well on the ovals. but half way through the lap the car would take flight like a kite. i guess a matching underside would of did the job. or a rear tunnel, like tecnacraft's kit.

aside from indy car bodies, protoform had a formula1 type m (mp4/9) that fit tamiya, hpi, kyosho, and other chassis'.

From what I gather, entirely profiled or flat pan undersides don't work on pan cars because the suspension can't take it (they bottom out).

that, and there isn't very much room for anything under a pan car. can't really do anything.

I ran this body painted up just like this on my 1/10th car back in the day. It looked real neat and did pretty well. For a shelfer it would be cool.

Bolink made one for both 10th & 12th,here are pics from the trading cards looks like the 2092 is sitting on a 12L chassis in the pic. I have the 2367 NIP but cant come up with a good enough paint scheme to justify taking it out,I see them on duh~bay every now and then
