Mmm. I wonder if its something someone custom made? That's cool either way.

It reminds me a bit of the GPM piece, but some one might have modded one?

After comparing the two pods, they look exactly the same except for the front of the pod. There is a nub with a drill hole on the top left front of the confirmed Oberle pod and mine is missing this nub. There is also a tiny drill hole on the bottom front left. Could this be an Oberle pod for another car or maybe one modified by the previous owner to fit another car? Also, I've tried to find some literature on the web but have come up short. Can anyone post up a link or two for me?

Send Kent (WC1982) the pics, and he can help you out!

My memory is fuzzy on the exact looks of the Oberle pods because I only had one and didn't use it for very long. I seem to remember the milled out beams and I doubt GPM would go to that extreme on their production pieces. Is it possible that it's milled from magnesium? The satin finish looks like mag after it has aged for a while. Oberle might have tried using mag after the AE drivers stopped using the aluminum versions because of the weight.

Is there any literature available on these pods? I'd like to find out what these cost new and maybe see some pics of the different pods that were made.
