A stretched version of the Raco Jac-Rabbit.. .

Ahhhhh the venerable JacRabbit! HPI thinks they invented the weed eater powered vehicle. These beauty's have been around since before there was a HPI. Mine is very nearly finished. If I had found out sooner that the body prefers Krylon to the 9 dollar for 3 ounce Tamiya paint I was trying to use to no success, it would already be finished. These two are an interesting combination. I have gone more or less with the tuned pipe version. It has a few add on parts like alloy rear wheel supports, velocity stack, alloy front risers and shock mounts along with a fresh engine. I managed to find a few sets of change gears for the rear end and it will run road speeds or off road speeds. It has been rung out without the body work and while not a real burner, it is still a good deal of fun. After 35 or 40 mph, anything becomes a lot more touchy and with it's narrow wheelbase it rockets around fine. Old is good too!

I've never heard HPI thinking they invented anything. I think everyone knows gas powered R/C's have been around forever. Heck, even Traxxas had that gas powered buggy back in the 90's was it? The three most popular old manufacturers that come to mind are Raco, WCM, and New Era.

In Europe there was Yankee, FG, Lauterbacher, Harm, MCD, and there were even Some Raco Indy Chassis being run as well.
