MRC Santana MKII and Junior

Mr. Ed asked for some pictures of the Santana so here goes.

The first one is an original Santana Junior apart from the tyres and rims.
I threw out the originals the other day. They where quite ugly and mounted with foam tyres.

The Next one is the Santana MKII wich has CVD front shafts and additional cooling on the motor plate. The car is not orignal - When i recieved it, it had hotshot hubs and red knuckles. I´ve replaced those with Kyosho optima hubs and alloy knuckles. It´s missing all the shock absorbers (the ones fitted is just for fun) I´m going to put some Kyosho Plastic absorbers with alloy top ring on it. The front belt is missing aswell and since the chassis and suspension arms doesn´t show sign of wear, my guess is that it has been a parts car. Wheels are not the originals :-)

I have to tell a few things in french  : belle trouvaille, je ne suis pas fan de cette série de carrosserie, mais le chassis était pas mal après quelques fiabilisations :)

These are really hard to find. Pitty because they do look like they could make a good vintage runner for stock racing.
The hardest to find would be the FWD version, followed by the follow-up of the santana (much fancier body).
I think I have only seen like 2 different pics of each on the web and in magazines over all these years.

It seems to be good quality, but as You mention hard to find parts for, I´ve never seen any parts for them.
I don´t know who designed the Santana body´s but I hope they found something else for him to do :-)

I don't know ... hum ... ok :D
nice find, I'm not a fan of this body, but the chassis was not bad after a few fiabilisations.

long ago that MRC is no longer in RC cars, so I wish him to have found something else to do :P

Cyberfox -

Is it possible for You to post a picture of it?
I would like to see the how they wrapped the parts.

Did MRC had something to do with Aristocraft/hitec?
I have a Kangaroo or Dolphin (can´t remember) and when doing some research on parts, I think I´ve read that they were merged at some point.

Thanks
Dennis

MRC was the importer in France for Aristocraft and Hitec, and some other brands :)

You can see a pic of my Sand Master in my gallery

I actually liked that body, and I also like my cars to stick out from the rest. And I only used it indoors together with JG conversion kit for the MID. Still have that car lying around somewhere. 8)

It certainly looks nice - Wrapped just like the Kyosho´s. Ever thought of building it?
