At first, I thought this was a Yokomo 834 chassis, but now I am sure it is not. Any ideas? thanks -Jeff

That's a chassis for the Hot Trick optima. Mine had the trailing arms...so your chassis is the one used for the standard rear arms.

Cool, that was going to be my second guess. It was sold with a bunch of other optima parts (mid as well as std). Thanks -Jeff

Iwas looking at that auction because it reminded me of the optima I raced back in the day. I also removed the red anodizing and dyed the TDC (tri dia comp) chassis black.

Yeah, this one is definately CF. I never liked the Hot Trick stuff BITD, I assume thay made this as an after market replacement for the FG parts. -J

With that link Gary provided earlier, does that clunky-looking aftermarket chassis setup offer any benefits over the stock 2-rails, 4-sideplates setup? :? At least for my 2ยข, it looks like a$$. :x

Agreed. I always though the HT stuff looked like vomit. And the majority of the parts were not race worthy to boot.

The only hot trick parts I used were the ones pictured above. I thought it was a very good upgrade because:

it moved the belt/chain adjustment point to the rear instead of the front
it allowed you to place your electronics on the chassis...lowering the center of gravity
it made the car esier to work on (my opinion)

I wasn't too crazy about the red parts since I was running a green/white paint scheme...so the chassis got dyed and the aluminum got dipped (in a solution that removes anodizing.

I should mention that I *do* like the red Hot Trick arms for the Optima, except for one issue which, to me, seems to be an afterthought. I really don't like how they decided to attach the outer suspension pins by using some cockamamie spacers-and-washers idea. :?

Yeah, that was what I disliked was the screw/washer idea. One good hit, and  . I bet no one other that Hot Trick users, yelled "ARGHHH I bent a washer!"

Yes, I do love the red. The only draw back to red is that Hot Trick once used it. -Jeff
