Hi Guys, got another Cougar 2 to build up.

Just thinking about powder coating the chassis on this one, I have seen lots of nice RC10's in various colours.

Was this a popular mod on the Cougars back in the day??

Were there any popular colours people went for??

I don't remember people going for this on the Cougar at the time Mark, but I think it would look quite cool if you went for the fluro colours like on the RC10 rather than a black or other dark colours. 8)

Schumacher anodised them for the works models but I also havnt seen any powder coated cougar chassis. They should work well for powder coating, along with the motor plates. Do you have a good source for powder coating?

I think you'll find that the Cougar owners back in the day were more interested in running, so it was just the chassis to a buggy..... it's the RC10 guys who bowed to vanity and needed flashy trashy colours..... not much has changed, I guess.....

Course, I could be just stirring, due to the nature of this hobby....

Course, you could be saying that as most Cougar owners didn't want to try and work on the car as those cheap crappy screws were such a pain! :P

I had the orange fluro chassis on my RC10 cos it looked nice whenever it was on it's roof!

Thanks guys :P

I couldnt remember people back in the day powder coating the Cougars, but I was a kid so maybe forgot!

I just remember the silver, red, purple anodised chassis.

So what colour to go for??? I'm thinking of flo yellow and doing the motor/gearbox plates too.

White could look quite pimping but as its an 80/90's car flo colours maybe best.

I have a company near my home that did my Motor bike frame so may go and see him, just dont want the coating too thick to effect the C/S holes etc in chassis.

I'm doing a fluro yellow shotgun/storm so you cant do your cougars in yellow!! JK

I think yellow will look awesome, would love to see the finish. A few people have done rattle can jobs and they have come out looking very good. If your chassis' are not mint you can get them bead blasted by Tony @ rudebits - he does a good price and it makes them look a lot better.

Haha ok maybe I'll stay away from Yellow then! Lol

Maybe pink to match my wheels!

My mate owns a vapour blaster and does my stuff for free so I'll blast a spare chassis and get this off to powder coat

If it goes well ill post up the company info up
