Kyosho Turbo Rocky
Hi guys,
I have never had a NIB kit and was wondering if you could tell me about the Kyosho Turbo Rocky. I would like to get one NIB and was wondering if anyone could guestimate what this might cost me and how long I will be waiting for one to appear on ebay? Of course if anyone sees one on their travels think of me
The pic has been stolen mercilessly from Darryn's excellent site http://www.darrynsretrorc.rtox.com/
This is my new infatuation so I know nothing about it (apart from what I read on Darryn's site).
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers
Ed

Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
You mean you switched? No more Yoko infatuation? Are you sure you are feeling OK?
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
Good news and bad news: the turbo rocky never has been much in demand as far as I know.
That means little competition but also little offer.
Basically if you were into this kind of cars you bought a tamiya.
If you wanted something a little more serious from kyosho you got an optima, optima turbo or optima mid; I'm not too sure on when the turbo version of the Rocky appeared but they were available simultaneously for sure.
If you want more scarse: try finding a Shadow (no need to check Darryn's site: he doesn't have one inthere last time I checked).

Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
I always thought the Turbo Rocky was pretty cool. We never saw those in the states as far as I know. Shadows, on the other hand, were sold at discount warehouses such as PriceClub. Which is now CostCo, I think. You could get the kit, radio, charger and a battery for a pretty good price.

Hahaha yes my Yokomo infatuation continues but I am trying to find another avenue to pursue and I really like this cars shell it looks so square and I am still after a NIB kit to build as I have never had a complete one although I have opened many NIB parts never a NIB kit.mrlexan wrote:You mean you switched? Either that or I am going to have to get an AYK Radiant or something...
Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
AYK Radiant..........Pro!!!! I have one in my tamiyaclub showroom. I had looked for one, for years, after seeing it advertised in the older RC mags. I finally got one in a deal I did with a guy in another state. Certainly a beast of a car!! I have it displayed with my Turbo Optima Mid SE....the only thing missing is a Schumacher Bosscat (another 4wd Titan,) that I have waiting to be shipped from a mate in Australia (mate= good friend down under, for those of you American guys looking to hassle me!)
Turbo Rocky is certainly a must have for any serious Kyosho collector- I almost bought a set of Thorp Dirt Burners front aluminum arms for the Rocky, just in the hopes of picking one up some day.

Ahhh woobie, long time no see on the boards mate. Yes that car of yours is why I love the AYK Radiant Pro!!!! You can just see it was a race machine...fancy parting with it?
Oh and did you ever locate your bag of Delta Yokomo parts?
A Turbo Rocky with alloy arms would be badass!

Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
Ed, I could never sell my Radiant, but now that I know you are looking for one, I will certainly keep my eyes and ears open.
Regarding the Delta stuff.........I found most of the stuff, unfortunately, it is pretty much all for the 1/12 stuff. I used to have a bunch of Delta branded parts for the YZ834, but looking back through all of my old ebay auctions through the years, I see that I sold them some time ago.

Re: Kyosho Turbo Rocky
I would have to get back with you, but nothing incredibly spectacular. A bunch of wheels with foams, some front end parts.........Next time I get to my storage shed, I will make a short list. I know I have at least one spare 1/12 Spyder chassis plate.

Hehe, I was kind of kidding about asking you to part with your excellent Radiant Pro, I knew you wouldn't part with it. But please keep your eyes open for one for me as yours looks too awesome!!!!
Shame about the Delta stuff but never mind eh, least Temple and Doug can fight over it
Cheers buddy.
