I am working on new hubs and spacers to mount new offset wheels.
These are B4 Wheels mounted on my RC10.
Now to do some testing.

not poo-pooing the idea (I personally love the idea), but wont that put a lot of stress on the bearings?

Yes it will stress the bearings more no doubt. I went this direction instead of a new hub carrier. Hopefully some testing will prove it will work fine though.

Not being critical either, but the ThunderTiger rear Phoenix BXII rims are available and require no mods other than a 3/16 axle and bearings

Yes I have the tt wheels as well on another car, so many ways to make the wheels work.
I wanted to run my b4 wheels since I have one and can utilize the these wheels.

The parts consist of a new axle and wheel spacer.
Basically the same as the TT wheels but allows the use of B4 wheels.
I added another picture that shows the new parts.

The axles are machined from steel and the spacers are aluminum.

i approve of the project. i have b4 wheels i'd like to use also. i refuse to have even more wheels around.

the bearings won't see any additional force on them IF the offset is designed to be the same as a standard rc10 wheel. If you pushed the wheel out further than stock, then yes, the bearings would see greater loading. The axle is longer and could be bent more easily, but you've done an excellent job! Did you make and anodize those spacers too?

Instead of new axles why not just a barrel nut like the rockcrawler wideners use. The spacer could then just be a wider version of the CW spacers.

Looks like you got the fab know-how to make either method work though. Nice job.

I like the idea of being able to use my B4 wheels.

I have been out of rc car racing for 20 years and did not realize all the new stuff out there. I want to produce something instead of source parts. All your guy's input is very much appreciated.
Here is a side picture that shows the relationship between a RC10 2.0" wheel and the B4.1 2.2" wheel.
The stock 2.0" wheel is purple and dimensioned on top
The 2.2" wheel is outline black an dimensioned on the bottom.

Phin, the problem with the extended nuts is there isn't much material left from the 3/16" axle to the #8 thread, you would have to drill out the wheels in order to use one of those, defeating the purpose of using them for both a gold pan and a B4.

RCCWMAN, what material are you making the axles out of? something that can be hardened? Not so much for the axle side as much as the concern with the dog bones grooving the slot. the other issue is most guys now are running CVD's so you'd need to design an equivalent CVD axle.
