Any vintage racers in CNY? Ive been thinking about holding my own race, possibly in a parking lot. I'm sure If I ask around I can get permission.
Any takers? If so anyone want to help me build some ramps, and make up some corner markers, etc?

Grew up in Syracuse- moved after that. CRC has the outdoor off road track, there is an indoor off-road track in Syracuse near Carousel Center run by a couple thugs from NYC-

I'll talk to them down at CRC. I race there every thursday night. Maybe they will let me hold a vintage race there. Lord knows I just payed their mortgage or power bill this month!
As far as that place in Syracuse, Is that Full Throttle? If they are "thugs" maybe I'll refrain from visiting there.

Full throttle is the place, don't know much about them other than they rolled into town from NYC opened up and started trashing the local place that was in business for 30 years. Enough to keep anyone that I know from never setting foot in there

Probably some Pauly D/Jersey Shore morons in Tapout or MMA shirts.
I like CRC, the people that work there are awesome. A lot of the people that race there are friendly and helpful. There's one dude that sets up his pit right next to me, He races, flies rc helis and rides Harleys. Between the rcs and vintage bikes, we have a lot to talk about. I cant remember his name for the life of me though.
Scatterbrained I am.

CRC is owned by Frank Calandra (CRC cars, tires parts etc and........the owner of the carpet we all use named Ozite) they have an indoor oval/roadcourse and outdoor 1/8 and shortcourse track. Nice little place-

I am very familiar with CRC. Frank Sr was responsible for telling my dad to buy me an RC-10 for X-mas. Before CRC was formed, they were responsible for making Class chargers and brushes for rc cars in an old brick building in Schyuler, NY. Frank Jr was also a pretty good motocross rider back in the day.
Prior to CRC taking over the track it was named GP Racing. I'm guessing the building was GP Racing in the 1989 to early 1990's time period. Not sure how long Greg stayed open. Maybe Jayman24 can ask Frank or Mark the history of the building.

I could ask them.
I do know that CRC was in a couple different spots in Rome a long time ago. The old dirt track still resides behind the Dollar General. And I from what I'm told, they were on Erie Blvd in Rome for a little while too.
I know Franks daughter, she's dating a friend of mine.
They still have the carpet track inside, I've seen probably hundreds of layouts in there over the years. They also have had some killer outdoor tracks. There was a couple of them I love driving on so much, I was really bummed out when they got changed.

Any takers on the race? There is a lot down the road from me that we can use. Its big, and empty. I asked the people at the new bank there and they said I can use it whenever. Just don't make a mess.
