Hi,
Newbie into vintage Associated RC - my first pan car was a RC12 with alloy body posts and no differential. I used to drive it at the local school yard, where they had the nicest tarmac. I remember it as being awfull fast with its blue Parma motor. The only other car I´ve had driven at that time, was a Marui CJ7 golden eagle

I bought this RC12LC kit from a private collector in 2005. The price tag is in USD
Is it a rare car - or does "everybody" have it on the shelf?

I´m asking if it´s rare not what people are willing to pay for it.
I wan´t to know if it´s standing on "everybodys" shelf or if it´s a rarity.

Thanks for reading them, you'd be surprised how few of us did Any 12l series kit unbuilt is rare, the worlds editions prob a little rarer. Although I don't know how much rarer. Build it!!

Think I've seen this somewhere... did you have a post where you were willing to trade this for a clean B stamp?

Thanks for the reply - I guess I´m a gravel and dirt guy, and I´m not sure how well it performs in my back yard So I guess I´m not going to build it, but leave it to someone else to do it.

If You have seen it on the TC trade section, then I guess it´s mine. I have the same nick at the TC.

IMO the LC is rare and very rare NIB! The RC12LC (C for Cliff Lett) was only out a very short time, one or two years I think, and most of the LC's that you find are not all original parts! LC wheels are very unique as they used 2 screws like the other L's but with the Stealth diff it now did not incorporate the right wheel with the diff assembly! In short, you did not have to disassemble the diff to remove the rear right wheel! The later RC12L3 had 3 screws holding the wheel, like today's modern 1/12 pan cars! Also, the front LC wheels used non flanged bearings!

You have a nice gem (even with the foxing on the box), and if I had an extra Team Car or Stealth CE, I would be all over it!

Thank You for sharing this information, I was convinced that is was Masami´s "car" and not dedicated to anyone in particular.
I did a google search on Cliff Lett and found the magic number: 111, and that was Mph - wow.

I posted a set of stealth tires for this car on ebay.

+1 and the diff overall is smaller, the rings, hub etc. Its a great car, I too have one, and its just a gem for me, the wheels, rear pod, just overall a sweet car.

I'm curious, what time period was this from? And, if its a car in honor of Cliff, why is there a picture of Masami on the side? AE's marketing dropped the ball on that one.

Because Masami went out and won the worlds right away with it - although it was a bit modified with yokomo wheels, and cuts to the chassis.

I believe its a nod to Cliff as a designer / R&D guy.
