My green, gold, and white build

Post by flipwils11 »

I've been tracking down the parts I wanted for this build since I got the idea partially from Reggie's Yatabe yellow tub build. I liked the bright colored chassis and nose in his thread with the white as a nice accent. Building an RC10 with white parts will be my first since I built an RC10 as a kid!

I am incorporating a few substitutions to my taste (as I do with all my builds) including the special fiberglass shock towers Jay Dub sells on here (thanks so much him for making the new style front one so I could get matching fiberglass material and look from his rear tower style and the later period gold pan front tower design I wanted for this build). I'm also using titanium nose tubes and shock collars/spring perches from Jake/bigjeepz (anodized gold).

Tracking down the proline wheels and nip TQ tires took a while, along with finding the front arms nip.

Progress so far... I rebuilt the diff with new outdrive hubs from Dynotech (the ones that came on it were getting rusty and too ugly for this shelfer project) and a diff repair kit from Associated. Other than that it's been pretty straightforward with all these nice, new parts. I ran out of gold Dynomite gold 3mm recessed washers, 2 shy of finishing, arggh! So will need another pack of those.

Apologies for the retina burn... I decided to shoot with bounce flash and the camera settings on vivid colors, and I'm too tired to go reshoot them tonight. This lime green chassis might show better under sunlight anyway.

I need to get a white spur gear too apparently.

Progress pics, I need to order some titanium tie rods apparently... the body to match this trippy buggy is already at WED jim's shop in queue for paint.
