Have to share, RC10 shelfer stand (prototype)

Post by flipwils11 »

I was on fleabay last weekend (looking at rc stuff of course) and noticed some nice Tamiya stands. I messaged the seller and he was willing to do one for the RC10 as a prototype and sent it to me!

I just received it and tested it on my gold shelfer rig, see photos below. I'm very pleased with it and thinking I'll order some more. I may ask if he can make it slightly higher to get the front wheels up a bit more. But this will be a big help to prevent flat spots on my shelfers' tires, plus it looks cooler!

What do you guys think, any suggestions? I was going to ask if he could do them with the newer AE logo as well for later RC10 generations.

I would go an inch or two longer with it as well. If it could be made taller and longer I would most likely buy one.

That looks like a good option for a stand. I'm always keeping my eye open for a good stand.

Adjustments to height are being made (didn't ask about length) and I will post up new pics when the parts arrive.

I also requested 3 more with the new height with this logo design, and 1 with the new height and modern AE logo (for my blue B3 shelfer).

Those are so cool. I've been eyeballing the Kyosho ones for a long time. It's just that at $28 a pop plus shipping I'd be in the poor house just to get my cars off their tires. I use cheap plastic tubs sprayed with Krylon Fusion. For my project, "non-display-worthy" cars I use monster truck tires. :)

wow $28... old worn out (but clean) mounted tires will keep doing the job for me for the time being ;)

Problem is, if I buy one I'll need to buy a dozen others (equality of treatment)... that's a whopping lot of cash here

Old tires will do. repeat: old tires will do.

It took a lot not to increase the amount from 1, that's for sure. Old tires will have to do for the rest

X2 Old tire work just fine! Although the stand is nice, I would not pay anymore than $10 a piece! Now if they were like the one a member here custom made of an old AE logo all milled out of white plastic? (sorry I cant find the picture or post!) I would pay $28 for that one!
