Hey guys, i just joined this board. I dug out my old T2 and started running it. Looking at all the new stuff out now i went and got a ezrun b5 brussless setup for it. Im looking at updating the tranny due to the fact that ill probebally smoke the stock t2 gears with the brushless system. From all the poking around i found that i can use the medel hardened diff gear and idler from the rc10gt anf the top shaft and dual slipper setup from the T4. Has anyone done this or can this be done without chewing up the gears or casing?

Sorry for the newb questions bit ill be back on my feet with all of this in no time :D

Hey there and welcome aboard. I've been running my old Team Car equipped with an old Stealth (older than the T2/B2 version) with an LRP 7.5 Brushless motor, 3800 Orion LiPo batteries and a B4 slipper unit without any issue so far, the thing is lightning fast at full throttle as you can imagine. I would stick with the tranny internals, they should hold up just fine, maybe replace the plastic idler from time to time. The only thing I would do is to swap the top shaft and slipper unit with a T4/B4 one (no mods needed). Oh and keep your tranny internals dry, no grease or lube needed in there.

Like Asso man said, the stock gears will hold up fine- but the Robinson Hardened idler and Hard Anodized (GT/T4/T2) diff gear will fit and work forever, and run really really smooth due to all internals being machined vs molded.

Will the Robinson diff gear for 10GT work in a 10T? I have read elsewhere that it will not work in the buggy, maybe a different gear ratio?

Thanks!

in a t2 yes, in a 10t, no.

Thanks!

Just for my own edification, how do the two transmissions differ?
