Is there a way to setup the site in the options to open links in new tabs? I was digging through the control panel and couldnt find anything. This is the only site I've been to recently that doesnt open links into new tabs. Not that big of a deal but I'm use to closing tabs after I'm done reading the link and subsequently, I close RC10Talk vice hitting the back button.

I am almost sure that it is the way the site is set up/built. Probably the free source phpbb forum layout.
The ClodTalk.com forum and RCCalgary forum use the same software. You know how some sites (when you click on a link) opens in a new tab?
It is how the site is programmed?? or built. I would prefer it to open in a new tab as well.
Instead I just right click the category or new post and open in new tab. There is no option in the User control panel to change this.
Hope that explains some of it.

It is the way the site is set up to handle internal (within the site ) and external (outside websites ) links. There are no user settings to change this, but you can to a certain degree control it through your browser. I can tell you with Firefox that [ctrl] click will open in a new tab, and as scr8p stated, right click/open in new tab is a Windoze feature that works across the board. Also within Firefox you can set the browser to how you want it to handle ALL links, regardless of whether they are an internal or external link. I've had varying degrees of success with manipulating these features.

Yea, I'm setup to open in new tab via Firefox but it doesnt work with this website; I'll just control click.

That's because "open in new tab" only works when a site is designed to open links in new windows. This, by the way, is a very irritating thing to do and typical of bad site design (usually it is also handled with Javascript instead of HTML, making it a pain in the ass because you can't right click the link). I like to decide for myself when I open something in a new tab...because there's no option to not open links in new windows/tabs when you don't want it.
