Hi Everyone,
Newbie to the site and to restorations. I just picked up a pristine 1984 RC10 #6010 kit on eBay.
I saw SCR8P's and Ruffy's Worlds replica and thought it would be a fun project to dedicate to the memory of a lost Friend/Brother of mine this past October to Cancer.
This Build is for Brian Decaire! I miss you!
So far I have found and bought:
1984 RC10 #6010 A Stamp Kit
Proline Knobby Front tires #103-F
Proline Black Rough Rider Front wheels #200-F
Proline Holiday Buggy Rear tires #109-R -&- Tamiya Holiday Buggy Rear tires
Autographic #6 decals
Autographic Black Script letter decals
Vintage Novak sticker sheet
JG MFG. Black front bumper #A-01B
Novak ESC #NESC-4 -&- #NESC-1 x2
Novak Receiver #NER-2S 27MHz G-Plug
Futaba Servo #FP-S132H -&- FP-S131S
CRP Servo Saver O-ring kit #9110
Various vintage stickers to complete
Yokomo Wing Buttons
KP Wing #327
Still need to find and buy: (Not much!

)
Yokomo wing #834B
I guess I would like to have more experienced builders advise me on where to look for parts or to look over my list to verify my parts so far. I used SCR8P's & Ruffy's threads for reference and REALLY appreciate the info contained in them!
I would also like to hear any advice people have or tips.
I will try to post pics tonight of the goodies I have acquired thus far in my build.
Thank you in advance!

Welcome aboard
Novak ESC #NESC-4
You should actually be looking for a Novak 1. Read thru those Halsey build threads again because there is a lot of great information - Ruffy & scr8p did some serious research and documentation.
Good luck.

Yes, make sure to read the threads. Don't just look at the pics. I don't remember about ruffy's, but mine isn't 100 percent correct.

Just figured the Novak 1 would be next to impossible to find....

Very clean car, so nice that i hope you don't plan on doing the Halsey chassis mods. The rear tires you have are very close to the correct replica rears.
"edit" Looked again and saw the two extra servo mount holes so have at it

I didn't even notice them. Ughhhh
....and that is precisely why I am on here and asking for advice.
Thanks for pointing that out. Still don't think I want to do all the chassis mods though.

Your replica will probably take many different directions as you work on it, and no one says your version has to be like someone elses either- DerbyDan and I are both doing Masami replicas of the same car right now and ours only share a handful of similarities

Think my next step will be to break her down and peroxide the plastics to brighten them up. Will also have to drill the extra shock mounting positions in the rear and front shock towers.

Thanks Ruffy for pointing them out in your build! After that Rit time for the front shock tower.
Will post pics of my progress soon hopefully!

How far into the replica are you going to go? You painting the shell yourself?

Got my buddy Kris Norlock from Darkside Designs
http://www.darksidedesigns.net lined up to shoot the paint. He does TREMENDOUS work and has done allot of the more recent Box Art Bodies for several companies. He painted the Box Bodies for the Kyosho RT5, Associated's AE TC6, B4.1, B44.1, RC8.2, RC8.2e and most recently Losi's 22T. Dakotah Phend is a local here and Kris has painted for him since the beginning. He also does several bodies for many of the other top pros of today. I'm really lucky to be good friends with him! Does anybody know what body Jay used on his ride? Need to start looking for the body. Unfortunately, the body that came with my kit was painted and cut out pretty poorly. Too bad because it is still in new condition, just ugly!

Sounds like a great plan. Jay used the Protech shell- they are currently available through AE but the new ones have a different window new (and the original ones fetch a bunch )
