First of all welcome to the board.

Second is what rc10t do you have? pictures would help also if you have that ability. If you have bushings then bearings would be the first thing to install as an upgrade IMHO. Next I would pry go brushless if you are going to be running this alot to cut down on maintenance. Lipo battery is almost an essential thing today. 2.4 radio gear is also nice but not needed unless you plan on racing. Not necessarily needed but makes it more convenient. Of course these are just my opinions and would need more info to go with on upgrades to the truck.

Mostly I am also a 'don't fix it til its broke kinda guy' so upgrades could be something to put on as needed depending on how much you will be wanting to run this thing. As far as brushless, lipo, and 2.4 radio gear goes I find this site (http://www.hobbypartz.com/hardcase.html)
very good priced and have had quite good luck with alot of the batteries/2.4 gear. Haven't had any experience with the chargers or the brushless stuff of theirs yet but plan on putting some stuff together this winter for my daughter's rides.

Let us know more and we'll try to help as much as possible.

No restrictions as far as I know. I've seen some pretty HD motors pushing these stealths and haven't read any major issues with them. Some are running the B4 top shaft/slipper assy and it seems to be the only thing needed. Do some searching about that and you'll find quite a few great writeups about them.
