new in pack are not always easy to find, but there are spares out there

if you are going to be running a race, best bet overall is to pick up a cheaper complete car so you have a full set of spares.

i intend to run it in a few rounds of our vintage series along with an rc10 team and kyosho mid custom special, so would be a good idea to find a cheap spares car.
thanks all for the replies.
