Modern Runner JRx2

I've wanted to build a Losi for a while since I became active in RC again. But as I joined in the vintage scene, an RC10 looked like it be easiest to complete. Then an Ultima fell in my lap. Now, I getting back to where I started in RC, and I guess I'm due...my name is LosiXXXman after all. :D

My first competition car was a JRXT, but I never raced it in that form. By the time I got enough stuff together to head to the track it was a buggy, with wild red five spokes, H-arms, and a junior2 body. My car always pushed, so for this one I'm going with the SWB x2 chassis. I've always preferred a loose or twitchy car to a pushing one. :D

Nice start! I am kinda about to do same thing. But I using the JRXT chassis with the RPM's front and back. Also I'm using the LXT front boby mount and rear shock tower so I can mount a LXT body on it. I will post pics as soon as I get started. Good luck with your build.

You might find some ideas in the one I built. I only have a few practice laps but it is dialed. I will be selling soon for other projects though unfortunately. I combined a lot of JRX stuff and modern stuff with a few custom ideas as well.

Looking forward to seeing this come together. Are those RPM arms?

The rears are RPMs, front's are Andy's wide Ultima arms. I'm hoping that it won't be too wide with the caster/steering block/axle/wheel combo I'm planning. If it does I have a backup plan though.

Worked a deal this weekend, and got some more parts coming my way. Probably be some updates by next weekend.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Can anyone provide me a measuement on the stock x2/xt rear tower - bottom edge to the flat that the body rests on? Need to compare size with my pro se tower to plan for body fitment...

I measured my JRXT rear tower and it's dead on 2 inch's. I think the PRo SE tower is a touch taller.

Thanks KV. I measured my ProSe tower and it's 2" at the flat part.. above the body mount but below the shock mount ears. I want to run an X2 body, so I have to figure something out to get a body mount up there level with the flat. Shouldn't be difficult. Thanks again.

there is a thread on here talking about how the RPM rear arms twist under compression (ie - bad). something to do with the long shock "tounge" that you have to mount onto.

Great start to a car though, one day I will have a graphite chassis to start my build, I have plenty of plastic chassis, but graphite has eluded me.

Rotating mass on that center drive shaft may be a bit too much
Let me know if you need any parts. I may be able to help.

Their were atleast 3 jrx2's in the field all of them in stock trim and all 3 of them were fast and seemed to handle well.

Is that chassis a little shorter than the JRXT chassis?
