Hey guys , I have been looking for some aftermarket wheels for my runner... I was at my LHS and saw a few wheels in the 2.2 size but I have no idea where to start... What wheels in the 2.2 size will fit on the optima??? Any pics??? I guess is easier to find 2.2 tires and the bigger wheel would give you a bit more speed... Let me know waht will work and post pics if you have.... Thanks.

HPI 5-stars work great, you just need to buy 2.2" tires to match. You want the 32mm thick ones, which come in various finishes; black, white, chrome.

If you search eBay for 2.2" wheels with 12mm hex drives, you'll find lots and lots of choices.

checked on ebay but couldn't find a 32mm wheel...

36 to 39 mm or so would work fine. Let me check, there's a guy I bought wheels & tires from a while ago....somewhere in Australia.

Traxxas Tracer wheels also should work; 2.2" diameter, 38 mm wide and I'm pretty sure they mount with 12mm hex drives. I think they come in chrome and black chrome.

Annsman Mad Rat 2wd wheels, the fronts have hexes on as well and fit my lazer zx perfectly and are the identical width as per the original wheels. Should be fine on your car.

They'd probably fit diameter-wise, but they might be too wide. It seems you're looking for some road tires. I found some tires & foams that work perfectly for the Turbo Optima wheels, and also will very snugly fit HPI 5-Stars. CustomWorks #6214 tires, #6231 foams. They have a 2.0" I.D. and mounted, have a 77mm diameter, 38mm width...pretty close to stock size.

Those look great Colecanth! I like when they fit the stock wheels.
