Restored Kyosho Beetle

Here is another addition to my growing Kyosho collection: A Beetle. I bought it as a wreck off Evelbay, gave it a good clean and a new bodyshell and decals from Marwan. I left the vintage radio gear in place but added a LeMans 240 motor. I went for my favourite "speedblock" paint scheme again, I never get tired of it. It will stay on the shelf for now, I won't dare to tun it.
Before the resto:
After the resto, I hope you notice the difference

That is very, very nice! Thanks for sharing. I passed a pair of these up at a swap meet last year because I was focused on "real" cars at the moment. Seeing this makes me question my thinking...

Looks very nice! Is that one of the reproduction bodies? I've got a Tomahawk I'm converting into a beetle, but always on the look out for the real deal.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.
@Perfect_Enemy: Yes, the body is a reproduction
@GJW: The hardest parts to find would be the tires, I used the original ones but they are very brittle. I haven't found new ones for a reasonable price, yet. All other parts were still in place or could be found in my spare parts box.
@Hcp22: No, it isn't a runner. The only Circuit 1000 Buggy I really run is my first Scorpion ever:
After the resto:
... and in running condition:

Which wideners are you using for the runner in the rear? TLT?
the beetle looks way better with your paintscheme

No, unfortunately I haven't. But it's no big deal, the widener is nothing else than a wide drive hex. All you need is axles with a hole for the pin and the rim won't get fixed with a nut but by the bushing with thread inside shown in the picture.

Witch CVD’s or wheel shafts did you use?

If I remember rightly I used Blitzer Beetle achsles with stock Scorpion drive shafts
