Boy have I been procrastinating on this one.... Put it off, put it off and before you know it, I got less than 3 weeks till the vonats! Luckily I have been able to concentrate on getting this buggy near it's completion.

I picked the car up off of a fellow member here. Came with a lot of goodies. RPM F & R bulkheads, RPM F & R hubs, RPM steering rack, universals on all four, Associated hard anodized shocks, one way spur cluster, Tecnacraft turnbuckles.

It was pretty well stacked as it came, but I had a few things I still wanted to do to it to call it race ready. It came with a plastic top brace which I replaced with a fiberglass one that has braces butted up to the back of the front shock tower. Installed slightly longer front shocks and played with the pistons and springs till I was satisfied with the stance. I machined the rear wheel adapters out of round stock to allow JC 2.2" wheels all around with proper track width. Added the Associated moulded wing with the dams slightly cut down. Swapped out the RPM rear hubs with Ultima hubs to get rid of a LOT of slop! Topped it off with a Fastraxx body w/undertray that I've had in my stash for a few years now. You'll have to wait a few more days to see the paint.

I will be running a 10.5 motor in it and hope to have enough gear for it. I have the motor backed off as far as it will go and have a 23T pinion installed. I am not for sure, but I think the spur is an 87T. I am pretty well screwed as far as spur gear size goes. We'll see.

Tell me what ya think.

Brandon, that looks like a nice car man. Should perform very well for you. I didn't know you had access to a lathe. The rear adapters look really nice.

Nice work man.

Coming from you Jake that's a compliment.

Yeah, we have a 24" Sharp and a 24" LeBlond in the shop. Bridgeport mill as well. Nothing CNC unfortunately. All of my lathe work I do on the Sharp. I'd look like a goober making itty bitty RC parts on the LeBlond (it has a 25 foot bed!)

Nice job, cant wait to see the paint that you are going to actually lay down. I hope it looks like the photo, that's sweet, and would look good on your YZ10

Brandon you need to update this thread. this was one of the best looking buggys their. you got robbed on the best paint award. Tim's car looked good dont get me wrong but the paint on this car was much harder to do and looked fantastic.
