My lattest addition to my Ultima line up.!!!!!

Post by Mad Racer »

I just got this from Tree Hugger.

All i can say is WOW!!!!!!!

It's so clean with only minor scratches on the bottom of the chassis. Im still chasing a Gear cover and the little pesky L shape bracket of the roll cage. From the Motor plate to the Suspension tower pipe piece.

Apart from that its all there . Has the original box, instructions. Metal plaque 87 World champ, and a special world champ decal.

Oddly this has a front sway bar. NOT the Turbo style front bar . This connects to the top of the camber rod and runs back in the car over the servo and back to the other camber link. Never seen one like it and is written on the box and tells on the back pages of the manual to instal front bar if front is too twitchy.

I get the feeling it was a running change after the worlds ???? But the Turbo was out than too which mounted the bar by links on the arm itself around the front bulk head. ( Normal Style fit )

Any info guys?????????

A big thanks to Paul for the great deal & care of packing it all up inside another big box. Much appreciated...

Cheers

Very nice! I have a few Ultimas in pieces on my workbench trying to decide how to proceed. I've never seen that swaybar either but I'm sure someone will know of it. Great looking buggy!

They changed the sway bar design because they started using turn buckles instead of the plastic upper link. I remember building a Sideways for the hobbyshop and it also came with that swaybar.

Very nice car.

Looks great!

Dang, I gotta finish putting mine back together! I took it apart to clean it, and never got past 75% reassembled. I think I was looking for a front shock tower that lets me use the longer gold shocks instead of the stock red ones.

It's been a months since I've looked at it, but I am pretty sure mine was turnbuckleless and came with a sway bar. Sounds about right!

I'm not sure I understand the question, Paul...the idea we both agreed to was for you to send me an Optima undertray and hard final pinion gear and we could put this behind us. 8 months ago we both seemed to agree this was a fair trade value for those bodies. I'm assuming you no longer have those items, or you would've sent them ages ago. We don't have to discuss this in someone's Ultima thread, but you don't reply to any of my PM's.
