Restoration - JRX2

Post by WriteDean »

Hello Everyone,

I am Dean, a Lead Contributor for R/C Driver Magazine. After building a Losi 22 on my blog (http://find.rcdriver.com/blogs/8) I decided to relive a bit of my past and TRY and restore a vintage JRX2. The hardest part thus far, getting a motor from the time period. The car is nearly done and almost mint and I even found a new body to have done up like the box art. I located an old school Tekin esc too. As for the motor. I would love to get a Losi Revolution motor, Race Prep or Trinity.

Anyone else here tried to restore one of these like this? I did it to an RC10 not that long ago and it seemed MUCH easier to get proper electronics as EVERYONE still has the original RC10 motors.

Thanks
Dean Berry

Hey Dean, welcome!

I'm not a Losi guy, wait a sec...I have a Losi Comp Crawler and am losiguy on their forum, hum

Anyway, I'm sure you will find what you are looking for here. When it comes to vintage, this is a great site.

good luck, and post photos or a link the the resto project :!:

I have one posted in the Losi thread under a few Losi's with the correct revolution motor in it. As I understand as plentiful as they were back in the day they seem to be scarce now!

Thanks for the kind words.

I think I will be doing a Tamiya Falcon once I complete this as it was my very first car.
