What's an equivalent Lipo?

Here is what I have now:

What would be the closest LiPo to this battery?

Nothing is really the same, you have a 8.4v nicad/nimh and the lipo is a 7.2/2S-11.1 3S so the best thing or the closest is probably a 2s 5000

Kinda, but really unless you are running 21.5/17.5 you are really only adding heat to the motor instead of punch-

Well I have a Castle 4600 kv and mamba max ESC if that helps. Just don't want to lose too much speed but going to a 3s would be too much I think

Just to clear things Up, Lipo 2s= 7.4 V (3.7V/cell) and NiMh 6cell is = 7.2V (@1.2V /cell), some typo error on the above post.
Lipo @ 3S
11.1V
Ni-MH/Ni-cad @ 7 cell
8.4V.
The C rating doesn't mean your motor will go faster or run for longer. It just means that if you ever want to use more current, by using the battery with a different motor the 25C battery will allow more than the 20C version etc etc.. its more of the punch or juice your ESC can provide to the motor when needed. Or how fast the current can be delivered from Batt to ESC. imagine a bucket of water with 20 holes as compared to a 25 hole, which will drain faster.... hope you get what i mean.
Too much speed would be difficult to handle ( with my driving skills), and also if you increase the voltage , you tend to stress out your electronics/esc/motor and also the car when you hit a pavement/ (hehehehe).
i think a 2s Lipo 5000mah and 45C would be fairly meet up with a 7 cell Ni-mah. ( i may stand to be corrected).

The Lipo cells are rated at 7.4 volts, but that is closer to their discharged voltage. Their charged voltage wil be closer to 8+ volts. So they are more equivelent to the 7 cell packs of old. -Jeff

I've had a couple of recommendations to get the Gens Ace battery on Hobbypartz.com - Can anyone else recommend other brands? I'm assuming that the banana plugs on the Gens Ace battery could be changed out for the Traxxas connector I'm using?

So I picked up the 5000 mah Gens Ace 40C lipo and swapped out the banana plug for a Traxxas end. Amazing how much 'punch' there is and its definitely at least as fast as the 8.4V nimh battery but its consistent throughout the run time.
Can't wait to drive it more. So far so good!

Weighs less too, so get's up to speed quicker.
