i painted this tub and nose plate sometime last year, around the same time that i did mrlexan's "pepto tuber". hence the PB (pepto bismol) 10.
it's been hanging hanging in my basement, with no real plans to do anything with it. well, late last year i got a graphite team car from a member here. the chassis was pretty much shot, but the stealth was decent, along with some of the chassis components (bulkhead, mip bellcrank, hinge pins, ball studs). so along with some pieces off that car, and new parts that i had laying in parts drawers and ziploc bags, here it is so far. it's been sitting like this for a little while now. i need to pick up a couple things for it at some point in time.....

Looks like a superb project base... still, the match between the shock bodies and the chassis/nose is a bit, er, puzzling, let's say
Any chance you could de-anno the bodies and match their color with the chassis? now THAT would be killer!!!

those shocks are just on there so i knew that i had a set for it. they're gonna get stripped, then i'll rub over them with a red scotch brite pad to give them a brushed/satin finish.

I like it!

I keep threating the misses that I am going to buid her a pink 10. But I always get side tracked with my projects.

As usual scr8p good job.

Ugh, I hate Pepto Bismol! Looks good on the car though
What kind of front shock tower do you have on there?

pretty much. it's a modified FT cf b3 tower. it'll be coming off in favor of a ae worlds tower when i find one.

I'd love to know how you got the holes in the tower in just the right place for the nose tubes. I had that idea a while back, but after measuring and eyeballing and measuring again... I ended up just butchering a tower.

here's a little write-up i did a few years back when i altered the tower:

now using the same process, you know where the nose brace tubes are going to pass by the original tower. so i simply bolted them back together, marked the b3 tower, drilled a 3/16" hole, and opened it as needed with a file/dremel.

A year and a half later....
So, I picked up this super nice used factory flourescent red chassis set from noony (thanks again ron).
I've never really been happy with the pink chassis I painted. I spent no time doing any kinds of repairs to remove gouges or scratches because I thought I was gonna use it. Never happened. So, unless I find some replica I could do using this chassis, the pink tub is getting swapped out in favor of this.

Much better! Now you have to start a new thread or re-name this one to Tomato-10.

well, i'm really close to saying i want to put myself through the punishment (

) of another replica. i've hunted around trying to find another pro driver that ran a buggy with the red tub. reggie already has plans on a steve chamberlain replica from the roar 91 nats (i think). i didn't want to
also do one. i was talking to him that i kinda wish it was a blue tub and i'd try and do a replica of craig drescher's winning rc10 from the 91 euros. he told me that rory cull ran a red tub in that same event. so, it looks like that's the road i
might be taking. though i believe this car would sit without an esc for quite some time.....

yes it would. unfortunately for me, i don't really find the hunt for white parts to be awesome anymore.
if i go ahead with the above replica, i'll most likely look into buying a nice, complete team car roller that's in nice shape. it'll be cheaper (and easier) in the long run.
