Police don't have anything better to do!

Here in Suck Hole, Pennsylvania, it is against the law to run your nitro rc in the street because it is an unregistered motor vehicle (due to the internal combustion engine).
They threatened a 10 year old boy with a fine for writing on the sidewalk with chalk. How stupid is this? Are the cops like this anywhere else? Don't they have something better to do?

Sorry, just had to rant.

D'oh...I thought "motor vehicles" implied those that had human drivers inside...

This makes me wonder, if I'm drinking a beer(s) and running my nitro rc in the street, am I DUI?

You're probably speeding and stunting, too.

 Unfortunately, It's the same here - small town low crime yada yada yada.

It's all really about revenue though - harass people, write tickets to buy things like fugly police car graphics

Must be a small town PA thing. The cops here are the same way. They're more worried about people riding bikes without reflectors than the bigger drug problem that has been happening lately.

If you get a ticket pay it. The PPA ( garfield) will come and boot it.

So you can't cross the street with a running lawnmower to mow the neighbor's lawn either?

I could be riding a go kart down Main street while drinking a beer and pissing out the side and the Evansville cops might give me a warning...

Please don't take this as promotion for drinking and driving.

I'd pay the fine with Monopoly money, toy car, toy money and then see how it played out in court.

On a further note I'm guessing it doesn't need to be an internal combustion engine to attract this treatment, an electric powered vehicle is still motorised

I seem to recall a case where a guy was prosecuted for being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle when he rode his child's electric ride on toy car back from the pub
