Waterproof silicone sheaths for connectors

I've been looking around for clear silicone sheaths like the ones in the attached pic (had to swipe someone else's pic to demonstrate) but haven't been able to find them at the LHS or online. I assume they're a thick tubing that shrinks on with heat, but the only place I've found them is already installed on existing motor lead connectors. Where can I get some of this stuff?

those are overmolds and are not 'cut to fit'.

your best bet is to try and find a source of 'tamiya bullet' connectors.

is this for restoring? if not, the better connectors to get are the newer gold plated solderable ones, that you apply heat shrink to in order to insulate.

I would want it to be functional and be able to disconnect/reconnect motor bullets if I decide to swap motors or need to reverse a motor rotation. I'll have to see if I can track these down somewhere.

I'm a big fan of the sermos style connectors (now made by Duratrax); I've been using them on all my motors and batteries since 1988. They're great because you can lock them together to make a battery plug or keep them separate for motor connections:

I found these: Tamiya 50245 connector set. I don't need the connectors themselves, just the rubbers.

A few pairs at least, but it doesn't hurt to have extras. I'd like to put them on all my motors. :)

Coelacanth, you might check with a local car audio shop or Best Buy. I used to cut off hundreds of bullet connectors with those clear plastic do hickeys over them everyday. Most of the places I worked at we hard soldered the head unit harness to the oem mating harness so no need for the bullets that came on the head unit harness. I know many of the manufacturers quit using bullets on the harnesses before I got out of that biz but its worth a try.

Thanks for checking, kaiser. I bought a set on eBay...but now it looks like Canada Post is going on strike at midnight tonight, so who knows when I'll actually get them! :?
