Polish anyone.

I did the polish thing and I always said I wouldn't.Also dyed the parts black.When I painted the body I left the sides clear so the advertising would show with the polished chassis. Image. Image.

After I polished it ,It left alot of fingerprints when handled. I then put on Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish and the shine was even brighter and It leaves a protective coating. Fingerprints are almost non existent.

I did this to a worlds chassis around 8 years ago for a DS project. Now if only I could finish it...

i like restored tub's very nice job :) makes a lot more sense polishing/re-anodising then spending 250 on a new world's or powder coated chassis, ya need ya head read imho! :roll:

Anyone have some helpful hints to accomplish this? I don't think I could get the same results. Well, let me stop there and do some searching out here but think a How to Polish would be a good sticky!!!

The most common way is to use varying grits of sandpaper but I've never polished anything that way before. I just use different buffing wheels on a bench grinder. I wouldn't recommended that method for small or intricate parts though.
