Post by SMOKE-DOG »

Anyone know the longest shock shaft that will work on an original gold front RC10 shock?
Part #?

Thanks

In theory any shaft will work to connect two points. The travel will be the same regardless of what shaft is used. You can put a 1.xx" shaft in a .56 shock but you of course will get the same travel as a .56 shaft. I don't know if this is on point with your question. If the diameter of the shaft is the same it will work. I don't know any #'s off hand, I can check later.

I ask because I want to use the top mounting hole on a Hot trick tower but I need a longer shaft. I wanted to know the longest shaft that will work on the front shock without problems. I remember seeing an article where they replaced the stock shaft for a longer one for more travel. (I think, can't really remember what they were trying to accomplish in that article)

It was likely a .71 shaft in a .56 shock body-
