Satoshi Maezumi '94 RC10 Japanese Nats Champ

Post by R-NO »

Following the interest in Reggie's recent post about a RC10 that ended up 3rd at the '93 Japanese Nats, I thought some of you would enjoy that.
In '94, Satoshi Maezumi -an Atlas driver back then, after a few years at Yokomo- won the 2wd mod Japanese Nats at the Yatabe Arena in front of Masami Hirosaka. Here are pictures of his RC10 Worlds car. That was Satoshi biggest achievement, after his '91 appearance in the 2wd '91 Worlds A-main in Detroit (the sole standard RC10 of the final, against the Stealth protos) and before winning the '96 1/10 on-road Touring Car Japanese Nats, (again in front of Masami and Barry Baker in 3rd if I recall well) driving an Atlas powered Kyosho TF2 with Atlas hop-up parts.
Now, Maezumi is the most iconic Tamiya driver in Japan, although a big win or a Worlds final has always eluded him since joining the firm of Shizuoka a decade ago.

I could be wrong. but they used to cut and re-glue 4wd front tires to make them narrow for 2wd front. had the tires with same pattern for 4wd front before

What is the red battery pad? I thought that it was an MIP part in my build, but now I don't know what it is
