White Arm Yokomo YZ10 Project~
I'm currently working on three YZ10 projects right now and since I'm missing parts from all three I'm doing a little work on each machine as the ever elusive parts show up on ebay. I got a hold of some white arms a while back and finally got around to bolting them onto something. Below are some build pics of the project so far. I bead blasted the bulkheads and sprayed a layer of clear Testors Dullcote on them to keep the oxidization away. A quick chassis bath in the magic juice got the chassis pretty clean leaving only a few small blemishes. I also found a set of woven carbon fiber shock towers that look gnarly on this sucker.
I have all of the drive components so I'll be slapping those in shortly. I'll update pics once I get the diffs and center shaft done. I'm missing bulkhead caps for the front and rear and I want to find a set of gold Associated shocks too. As I said, I'm missing parts for all of my yokomos but they keep trickling in over time. Here are some pics so far... more to come as this project progresses.
Jeff

Very nice, Jeff! Where did you have the parts blasted, and how much? The mag parts on my 870C are almost black.

I did the magnesium stuff myself as per this forums amazing advice!!!! I ordered a small bead blaster from Hobby King and built a blasting box so I could keep the mess at bay and also capture some of the bead media again for reuse. I wrote an article in Xtreme RC Cars Magazine about the build and it was in the Mar. 2011 issue. Below are some pics of the box and the bead blaster I used.Bimdapogs wrote:Very nice, Jeff! Hey Mike, nope, that's the 1200 SCR you sent me and it's sitting in one of my other Yok projects that I'll be posting pics of shortly. I must say, that car looks way better with the 7th cellfastang wrote:Looks great Jeff! Are those the cells I sent you?
